Fashion designer Uffe Frank’s creations in silk and brocade
Esteemed designer, Uffe Frank emphasises elegance and beauty with his exclusive creations for women, where exquisite silk is transformed into masterful feminine flattery!
The designer recently showcased his Spring/Summer 2016 collection at the Springs Hotel and Spa, Bangalore. Noticing the inclination towards European clothes among Bangaloreans, the Danish designer’s line has a blend of casual and evening wear. An alum of The Design School of Denmark and the Royal College of Art in London, fashion designer Uffe Frank ~ the man behind Crown Princess Mary’s wedding dress ~ has worked directly with design houses including Giorgio Armani, Valentino, and Enrico Coveri. He has also consulted for well-loved labels like Karl Lagerfeld, Krizia, Atelier Aimee e Acquachiara, and Piazza Sempione to name a few.
The designer’s collection is a mix of superbly cut, full-length wrap dresses, tops, and trousers in bright fuchsias, reds, blues, and gold ~ using principally silk, cotton, and linen. “I use clean lines and simple cuts in most of my designs, which can be worn by tying a ribbon around the waist,” Frank tells me. Working from his studio in Auroville, he sources out his fabrics from India, and his collections are retailed in Europe; however, the designer has additional plans of spreading his retail presence in Goa and other parts of our country.
