Times of India Write India Campaign Season 2
The hunt for India’s fresh writing talent begins here!
The Second Season of the Write India Campaign has kicked off! Famed authors Jeffrey Archer and Ruskin Bond are a part of this season’s celebrity author panel who will nurture writing sentiment and help the country uncover fresh writing talent.
Times Internet’s flagship news platform timesofindia.com introduced Write India in 2016. The campaign instantly gained popularity as an exceptional platform where Indians with a flair for writing could find inspiration and encouragement to bring their best work to light and even get evaluated by established authors. The launch announced a collaboration with 11 leading Indian authors who had collectively penned 25,000 stories.
This innovatively ideated campaign is a contest that allows people of all walks of life, with no bar to the age to participate and display their story-telling potential. Last season saw the emergence of 111 winners and the publishing of 36 winning stories in the form of a book in November 2016; many others are in the process of being published.
With the first season exceeding expectations and soaring with success, Times Internet Limited Write India Campaign is all set to explore more of India’s raw writing talent with an impressive line-up of world-renowned authors. Season 2 includes celebrity authors Ruskin Bond, Sir Jeffrey Archer, Sudha Murthy, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Twinkle Khanna, Anand Neelakantan, Manu Joseph, Namita Gokhale, Shobhaa De, and Nikita Singh.
Write India reflects the transforming ethos of Times of India which is aiming to not just promote social responsibility but also to encourage young Indians to showcase their talent in various creative fields. The Times of India Write India Campaign Season 2 is a 10-month affair that started last month and will end on April 30th, 2018. Every month will see a celebrity author sharing a passage with the registered writers who are required to build a short story around it. Mentor authors will support the writer by providing details regarding the genre and the tenor of the story. These stories will be submitted to the Write India Team, and the top winners will be selected by the author of the month. Starting on a high note, the campaign began with Anand Neelakantan {who penned the famous Bahubali trilogy} being announced as the author of July.
The winning stories created during Write India Campaign 2 will be compiled in a book and published by the Times of India after the season ends. Writers who win the contest will get the chance to advance their writing abilities through a workshop organised by the Times of India, where the winners will be mentored by celebrity authors.
Eligibility: The Times of India Write India Campaign Season 2 allows Indian citizens who can enter into a contract and are aged 18 years and above to take part in the contest. Those below 18 years of age may participate with the guidance and approval of their parents or guardians.
