The Tradition of Afternoon Tea at the Lalit Ashok, Bangalore

The Tradition of Afternoon Tea at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore

High Tea will never be the same after you’ve experienced it #TheLalit way!

A warm afternoon at The Lalit Ashok saw eminent women of Bangalore enjoying themselves over tea and conversation. This fabulous event was hosted in association with Urban Diaries.

Few things are more decadent than settling down at about 3 PM to a meal dedicated to indulgence. That is Afternoon Tea. I like it the English way, with lip-smacking treats, sumptuous sandwiches, fresh-baked scones, and an utterly delightful cup of tea. And just as much as I would like to, it is almost impossible to have all my wonderful readers join me for some cream scones and an exotic tea, so I’ve decided to tell you all about my favourite place to get them, and indulge in a special afternoon too!

The Tradition of Afternoon Tea at the Lalit Ashok, Bangalore: Is there a better way to spend a lovely afternoon, than sitting down to high tea in the sunny surrounds of The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore? Located in the posh neighbourhood of Kumara Krupa High Grounds, the Lalit Ashok offers afternoon tea with serious sparkle; giving you a chance to indulge in a great selection of premium ice teas, and hot seasonal & herbal teas accompanied with a wide range of both sweet and savoury delights.

Huge windows line the wall, letting in streaming sunlight. Tables are set on the inside as well as the outside, overlooking the garden. It was perfectly sunny on the day I hosted the event, with the weather sweetly coercing us to enjoy our time outside, as the event borrowed some glamour from the playful sun rays. The food was amazing and so was the staff who ensured that the tea and treats kept flowing. While the culinary journey was pleasurable, perhaps the most special thing about this experience was… well, the sense of not being constrained by time or rushed by urgency, which helped us completely relax and unwind. Aside from polite inquiries from the efficient servers as to whether we’d like more scones and tea {yes, please!}, we were completely left alone to enjoy ourselves. Thus creating the perfect setting for the afternoon tea experience; to be enjoyed and appreciated with near and dear ones over endless conversations.
