The High Tea Party at Toscano
A warm afternoon at Toscano, VR Bengaluru saw eminent women of Bangalore enjoying themselves over tea and conversation. This fabulous event was hosted in association with Urban Diaries.

The High Tea Party at Toscano: Say what you will about Bangalore’s weather, it’s hard to believe that we’ve been wearing our sunglasses so regularly recently. With the arrival of the winters, I had thought this may be a rarity, but the crisp sunny afternoons prove me otherwise. And, what better place to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon than atop Level 3 of VR Bengaluru? Open, airy, and offering fantastic views of Bangalore city, Toscano is the place to enjoy a sumptuous Afternoon Tea. I am talking about English tea served the old-fashioned way ~ in dainty china cups accompanied with crust-less finger sandwiches, a delicious presentation of scones, cakes, and other sinful delights!
When you step into Toscano, you will be surprised at how bright and airy it feels. Astutely designed to have a lot of natural light flow; the contemporary interiors showcase luxurious plush green sofas, and the interesting artwork on the walls, along with the intricately mirrored panels, lend an inviting ambience to the place.
Its strategic location gives you the pleasure of enjoying an amazing view of the city skyline while a courteous member of their knowledgeable staff recites the menu options to help you with your choices. The menu is built around the classic tea with some creative twists. As for meeting everyone’s needs, the restaurant has considerately added vegetarian options for all the cakes and pastries.
The High Tea Party at Toscano: To begin with, the servers recommend that the savoury sandwiches are best enjoyed with some tea; Toscano’s tea offerings are ingeniously paired with the remarkable flavours of the savouries. If you especially lean towards the savoury section of the Afternoon Tea like me ~ this menu delivers. My personal favourite is the creatively presented, cheddar cheese with apricot chutney on tomato bread.
Guests can nibble on salmon, cheese, chicken, and olive quiches, and a nest of warm scones with strawberry preserve and a fresh curl of cream. The scones served at Toscano are exemplary of the way they should be made and served. They are perfectly sized so as not to detract from the desserts and the flavours of the scones shine through. With the strawberry preserve complementing the savoury scones and the tea generously pouring in, we never found our plates and cups empty as the afternoon sun coursed its path to the evening sky.

The High Tea Party at Toscano: As our epicurean journey came to a close, the ladies silently gushed as Toscano’s affable staff members handed a goody bag to each of them. The bag had a mason jar filled with olives and pesto which had been exclusively prepared for the event. A delightful conclusion to a delightful afternoon tea experience.
Having the most exquisite Afternoon Tea in fabulous surroundings, and served by wonderfully attentive and professional staff is truly a wonderful experience. If you are looking for a memorable Afternoon Tea experience in one of Bangalore’s top restaurants, look no further than Toscano at VR Bengaluru, you will be sure to cherish every minute of your time spent there.
