Relax and Rejuvenate at Spa la Vie by L’Occitane
I recently received an invitation to indulge in the L’Occitane Experience at the Mediterranean Wellness Sanctuary, Spa la Vie by L’OCCITANE at VR Bengaluru. The 4,200 sqft Spa specialising in aromatherapy massages, body scrubs and wraps, is a retreat from the daily hustle-bustle of life and is designed to restore, renew, and revitalise the weariest of city dwellers. With the highest standards of service, Spa la Vie is committed to harmonising energy and restoring balance by skillfully blending wellness ideologies of the East and the West. A welcome getaway with four treatment rooms {two VIP couple’s suites and two single chambers, each with a separate steam/bath cubicle}, it offers a wide selection of spa therapies using globally recognised products from Forrest Essentials. The International chain also boasts of a Warren Tricomi salon in the same space, offering beauty services, hair spa, and salon services.
The atmosphere is tasteful, and open lounges give you a sense of comfort and relaxation. I also noticed how secluded the various service areas are ~ creating more privacy and comfortable relaxation. I was acquainted with Renuka Rao, spa manager, who showed me around and explained the services on offer. I was then seated at the spa’s relaxing lounge and offered herbal tea {honey-lemon-ginger green tea, which is the Spa’s welcome drink} while my room was being prepared for the Revitalising Aromachologie Massage {the massage I had opted for} which combines gentle Swedish effleurages, deeper-pressure Lomi Lomi and Balinese massage techniques to stimulate circulation and ease tension.
In a short while, I was escorted to my room which was wonderfully scented. The lights were dimmed and an air of relaxation came over me. After changing into a robe and bamboo slippers, I took a seat beside the massage table, as instructed. This is where the ‘foot cleansing ritual’ takes place, and it is the ideal way to ease into a spa treatment. My session began with the masseur/therapist, Passang, bathing my feet in a brass bowl filled with warm water and rose petals, to which she had added essential oils {mint, pine, and rosemary}. She then asked me to breathe in the aroma of the blend of essential oils {which also contained flower extracts} while explaining their properties.
To note: Every ingredient is drawn from the L’Occitane grand herbarium; a resource of hundreds of essential oils and natural ingredients.
I then moved to the deliciously warm massage bed, and although I usually find it slightly difficult to sit still initially, my therapist was gentle and constantly checked that the massage pressure was okay throughout the treatment. It did not take long before the warmth of the aromatic oils and her calming movements to help me unwind.
The massage focuses first on the left side of the body {the side of the heart}, to gently stimulate the acupuncture meridians from head to toe. Then the right side is treated to release negative energy from the body. By the end of the session, my muscles were relaxed, and any stress had eased dramatically. A hot steam after the massage was the perfect closing ceremony.
After the treatment, I redressed and moved back to the relaxed lounge where I was presented with a fresh cup of herbal tea and some shortbread. This was quite the post-massage treat because I usually feel fatigued after such a relaxing experience. I had another cup of tea before heading to the salon. The treatment menu at the Warren Tricomi salon offers a range of expectant essentials {facials, manicures, and pedicures} and some lavish signature treatments. I opted for the Warren Tricomi signature pedicure and manicure {a luxurious session using Forrest Essential products containing the goodness of herbs & spice oils}, and a haircut. Houpu, the lead hairstylist, was every bit as skilled as he was personable; rendering it easily one of the best spa services and experience I have received {I will reveal details of my salon experience at Spa la Vie in my upcoming post}.
If you too would like to relax and rejuvenate at Spa la Vie by L’OCCITANE, you could plan a girl’s day with salon or spa services. Just ensure that you make it an experience by arriving early to steam/shower or relax with tea before services. If you have never been here, I highly recommend calling as the staff at Spa la Vie are more than happy to answer your questions, share promotions, and make your experience a delight from beginning to end.
