My Favourite Fashion Trends For Summer
As I was browsing through Pinterest for some fashion inspiration, these beautiful and elegant images of Audrey Hepburn graced my screen. I have always been mesmerized by her overall presence ~ how she unified simple pastels to look so refining, how she carried herself charmingly in her perfectly curated outfits ~ which only added to her eternal beauty. Her style has truly stayed with me over the years.
This year, I took a page out of her book and created my humble summer wardrobe, while incorporating my favourite Fashion Trends for summer. I also wanted to contribute to my part in helping with our planet and reducing waste. How am I going to do so with summer this season, you think? Well, the answer is simple. I’m going to prioritize bringing together timeless pieces, because I know they will last over the years and never go out of fashion, as well. Hopefully, this will inspire you, my readers, to do the same.
While I understand that the transition from a winter to a summer wardrobe can be overwhelming, in my opinion, the trending simplicity in fashion will only encourage us to piece together classic silhouettes to achieve that perfect equilibrium. All while investing in pieces that can be worn with versatility. That being said, the central colour scheme I wanted to incorporate revolved around white and pastels. I find it to be such an easy colour scheme that makes dressing up or dressing down individual pieces a breeze… Of course, with the right pop of colour or accessory. And with my help, you can master that in no time!
I think that white and pastels not only signify a classic summer staple, but the season just has something that brings out the innocence of these colours. And the simplicity, elegance and ease of femininity they project just add so much more to the overall look… all while bringing out our inner glow. Think imaginative linens dresses or, crisp summer suits that can take on an entirely new meaning this season.
Just looking at Audrey Hepburn’s “ethos of simplicity”, encourages me to take notes from and hold on to her effortlessly chic and timeless spirit. Especially since I find that simplistic outfits make me comfortable in wearing my own style without trying too hard while helping me create variety from my seasonal wardrobe. I thus encourage you to ask yourself ‘What style speaks to you?’, this season. Inspiration is the lock and our own style, it’s key. And remember, everything looks pretty if you yourself are happy wearing it.
