A Hair Makeover at Warren Tricomi Salon

While I was still contemplating which haircut I should go for this season, Warren Tricomi Salon invited me for an experiential at their new VR Bengaluru boutique salon and spa; talk about perfect timing! On offer was not just a haircut, but their Warren Tricomi Special manicure and pedicure as well.

Elegant and modern with sheer simplicity of design and concept; from the hair spa/pedicure stations to the art on the wall, everything has been tastefully and insightfully chosen at the Spa. That Spa la Vie by L’OCCITANE believes in “L’Art de Vivre”, the French art of slowing down and savouring each luxurious moment, reflects in every corner of the spa; right from the spacious foyer to the way the ambience embraces you into its accommodating arms as you walk into the spa premises. Treatments offered at the Spa include Aromachologie soaking ceremonies, Scrubs and Wraps, Ayurveda treatments, Couple’s Treatments, Facials and Manicures/Pedicures. After a guided tour of the Warren Tricomi Salon, I was settled in the lounge area for a detoxifying and very delicious cup of tea containing liberal amounts of lemon, ginger, and honey. Drinking a few cups every day will up your immunity, I was told. Now I was sufficiently relaxed, and all set to experience the services on offer.

Warren Tricomi Special Manicure & Pedicure

The manicure/pedicure space is relaxing and comfortable; with ample magazines to read {I rarely get to just sit and read a magazine anymore}. The service: warm water, delicious scents, a scrub, followed by a massage and mask ~ what’s not to love! I picked a coral red polish and left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

What makes the Warren Tricomi Special Manicure & Pedicure special is the use of Forrest Essentials Sandalwood & Turmeric Scrub for 15 minutes, followed by the Forest Essentials Kokum Butter & Honey Pack that is kept on for another 15 minutes. This helps in the deep motorisation of the skin and nails and keeps them lively and hydrated. It is also an effective sunblock agent and helps prevent and repairs damage caused to the skin by UVA and UVB sun rays.

My aim: Not a big change, just healthy-looking hair with volume.

I have rarely been effective at articulating what I want to a stylist, usually resulting in mediocre results. Warren Tricomi Salon’s senior stylist, Houpu {appointed to assist me}, did an excellent job with listening to my concerns. We agreed to take off a couple of inches to remove split ends and to add long layers to provide more shape and dimension to my hair. The result: an easy to wear and style haircut with lovely natural layers taking off just enough of the dead ends to give my hair new life and bounce!

Verdict: I got a natural and healthy-looking result, which is all I wanted! Houpu is an amazing stylist, which was evident not only by my final look, but by how he paid attention to what I wanted, asked questions, and offered suggestions. I would recommend bringing a magazine or photographs to give your hairstylist some ideas about what you would like. You can alternatively ask their opinion on which style would suit your face shape best.

To conclude: I felt really welcomed by the attentive staff. Before leaving, I told Houpu that I loved how my hair looked and would be back, as I finally had found a stylist I could trust. Overall, I could not have been happier with the process or the end result.

Tip: Don’t be hesitant to emphasise what you want. I know some hairstylists can be intimidating, but you have to remember that it’s your hair.
