Dior Joaillerie Unveils Its Latest High Jewellery Collection

THE ROSE, THE INSIGNIA OF CHRISTIAN DIOR

The founding couturier’s desired flower, the ‘Rose’ has become a recurring theme for Dior’s creations, and since his début in 1947, Christian Dior’s motivation has stemmed from the architecture and elegance of flowers to design his ‘New Look’, as well as numerous Haute Couture creations. The theme of the rose breathes life into timeless jewellery, where the grandiose of flowers appears in several creations by the couturier, ensuring its significance and legacy as the insignia of Dior.

In homage to the passion Christian Dior had for roses, the Creative Director of Dior Joaillerie ~ Victoire de Castellane ~ inspired by the architecture of Christian Dior’s gowns, transforms the couturier’s favourite flower into exquisite pieces of Jewellery in the collections ‘Rose Dior Bagatelle’, ‘Bois de Rose’, ‘Rose Dior Pre Catelan’, and ‘Rose des Vents’; now featuring in the latest campaign shot by celebrated photographer Patrick Demarchelier. Also showcased is Dior’s ‘Archi Dior’  Collection.

ROSE DIOR PRÉ CATELAN ~ THE CRAFTSMANSHIP

Drawing inspiration from the roses that Christian Dior was surrounded by in his childhood days ~ those that blossomed near central Paris, in ‘Jardins de Bagatelle’ and those at the ‘Pré Catalan’ ~ Victoire de Castellane presents a sense of sylvan escapism in which flowers are exquisite and to be worn individually or as a beautiful assemblage.

Photographer Patrick Demarchelier, a regular House collaborator, eternalises these jewels in a romantic portrait. A hand-crafted amethyst rose divulges a preview of diamonds glancing out from under its petals, set like dew droplets on a golden stem. Others, assembled in rose quartz, act as a cradle of nectar for an exquisite diamond-set bee.

Like a mesmerising poem, the ‘Rose Dior Pré Catelan’ collection is created in the finest Parisian workshops. Hand-moulded using raw materials, the roses in this exquisite collection require many hours of meticulous work. ‘Rose Dior Pré Catelan’ designs stand out due to their generous volume and pastoral details ~ bees are portrayed to gather honey from the flowers, while a diamond rests on a stem-like a dew droplet ~ delivering realism and character to the jewels in this fabulous collection.

ROSE DIOR BAGATELLE ~ THE CRAFTSMANSHIP

ARCHI DIOR BAR EN COROLLE

Follow the detailed conception of the ‘Bar en Corolle’ ring from the prestigious ‘Archi Dior’ collection set in a ‘Parisian atelier’. A beautiful reference to the Bar suit of 1947 and the name of the first line from the New Look, ‘Corolle’ the ring is a masterpiece in itself. Its metal pleats bound by a row of diamonds is a perfect expression of the age-old ‘savoir-faire’ of these master craftsmen.

ARCHI DIOR LIBRE PLUMETIS

Enter into the world of a ‘Parisian jewellery atelier’ and be mesmerised by the exceptional ‘savoir-faire’ of the master craftsmen transforming Victoire de Castellane’s gouache outlines into the ‘Libre Plumetis’ bracelet. This Dior Joaillerie piece from the renowned ‘Archi Dior’ collection comprises of three elements, to recreate as closely as possible the volume and movement of a draped fabric.

ROSE VENTS COLLECTION

The ‘Rose des Vents’ is a series of hand-crafted illustrations by Dior Jewellery’s creative director, Victoire de Castellane, featuring Christian Dior and herself.

The sautoir comes in vividly coloured lapis lazuli, turquoise, and mother-of-pearl, and features the ‘Rose des Vents’ collection’s iconic star emblem.
